Thank You for a Fantastic October!

Thank you everyone who joined us in October. Your presence made our retreat a truly enriching experience. I had so many discoveries in this beautiful cultural exchange, and so many laughs (a few times, to the point where I couldn’t even breathe). It was such a fun group in October, so thank you again everyone for sharing the wonderful moments together.

Let’s take a moment to relive some of the unforgettable memories we created together in October.

Our Sound Healing session with Alchemy Crystal Bowls was just perfect for Day-2 activity after a long flight and a travel. The practitioner, Kanae, had a dinner together with us before the session, and she had a great time chatting with you all, she said.

When we visited a local potter, who has 50+ years of experiences, he showed us the special traditional kilns in a building next to his shop. He even served us all a nice warm green tea with his hand-made Yunomi (Japanese tea cups). Every time I come here, his hospitality and creativity always touches my heart.

Oh. My. God. The food was absolutely brilliant. From the traditional Japanese cuisine to the modern Japanese food, from the Western Japanese fusion to family home dishes, all the Japanese goodness was covered by our amazing chefs.

The cooking class (by my mom!) was also fun and she told me that she had a great time with you all. She is now also very motivated to learn English, too!

Our retreat is not just the repetition of the same programs. We change the activities according to the season and local event schedules.
In October, we were lucky to be able to visit an annual festival in the retreat village. Let’s see what’s coming up in November programs (it’s a secret yet!).

Matcha experience was just superb! We had an opportunity to grind “Tencha (Matcha loose leaf)” into Matcha powder before our Matcha tasting. Look at this beautiful bright color of Matcha powder. Colours that the nature creates are often way beyond our imagination.

I will take another time to talk about this matcha experience, but it was just fabulous!

Well, this is not even halfway, but I will stop here for now, and I will make another blog post for the rest sometime. There are so many great activities happening in one retreat, and there is no way I can fit all the memories in one post.

This program is only possible with all the support from the local people and community, and I will keep trying my best to find a way to give back to them and this village.
