Ukiha City

Ukiha Inari

Established in 1957, this shrine enshrines three deities and is renowned for its blessings of business success, abundant harvests, sake production, good health, long life, and academic achievements. Perched atop a mountain, the shrine boasts over 90 striking red torii gates, creating a mesmerizing path to its premises. 

Upon arrival, as you step onto this sacred ground during the yoga retreat, don't forget to look behind you and reap the reward: a breathtaking panoramic vista of Chikugo's rolling mountains, the town, and the picturesque patchwork of rice paddies nestled amidst residences.

Forest Therapy Road

In April of 2008, Ukiha City became the first certified forest therapy base in northern Kyushu. During the yoga retreat, we will visit one of the therapy roads surrounded by bamboo and cedarwood forests.

This 2.2km walking tra isn't just a hike; it's a holistic experience that renews your spirit, reduces stress, and fosters a deeper connection to the world around you. Discover the therapeutic benefits of forest immersion and revitalize your sense of well-being in this active form of meditation.

Shirakabe Dori

Delve into a bygone era, a century in the past. You'll find this historic Avenue nestled in Yoshii-machi, Ukiha-city. Its name, Shirakabe, translates to "White Wall," and this charming thoroughfare boasts houses adorned with white walls, each dating back approximately a century. Remarkably, around 250 houses within this vicinity hold the prestigious designation of being a National Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District.
In this culturally rich setting, our yoga retreat provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the timeless traditions of Japan, harmoniously blending the art of yoga with the soul of Japanese heritage.

Asakura City

Akizuki Castle Town, Asakura, Fukuoka, 秋月城下町, 朝倉市

Akizuki Castle Town

Preserving its scenic charm and historical ambiance, Akizuki Old Town has stood the test of time since its establishment nearly 800 years ago, through the Edo Era. With samurai residences, earthen and stone walls, and intricate latticework, it's often affectionately referred to as Chikuzen's "Little Kyoto." Renowned for its spring cherry blossoms and vibrant autumn foliage, this area offers a delightful blend of nature and history. As a National Important Preservation District for Historic Buildings, it's easily explored in half a day. 

Sanren Suisya

Japan's most ancient functioning water turbine, in operation for over 230 years, was constructed to protect farmland from both droughts and floods. The wheel responsible for irrigating fields positioned above the river undergoes biennial reconstruction, notably without the use of nails. It stands as a vital component alongside the irrigation canal and Yamada Weir. 

Amagi Park

Nature's beauty unfolds in all its glory, offering a perfect escape to bask in the warmth of the sun. With over 4,000 sakura trees that paint the landscape in springtime hues, enchanting azaleas, graceful wisteria trellises, and delicate irises, the park transforms into a mesmerizing tapestry of colors. In the heart of it all lies a serene pond, gracing the center of the lake.
